Life in St Pete

Formed in 1888, the city of St Petersburg was marketed as a place that would improve your health. Today, it could be argued that this same mission holds true with exemplary arts, sports, education, recreation, business and dining options.

St Petersburg is a thriving mecca of arts and cultural offerings. The Dali Museum has one of the largest collections of Dali’s work in America. With over 18,000 pieces of art including works by Monet, Gauguin, Renoir, Morisot, Cézanne, Rodin, O’Keeffe, and Andrew Wyeth, the Museum of Fine Arts holds a spectacular art collection. The Chihuly Collection houses incredible glass works by world-renowned artist Dale Chihuly, and the Florida Holocaust Museum is one of only three museums in the country to feature artifacts from the Holocaust. Recent additions of The James Museum of Western & Wildlife Art and the Imagine Museum add to the St Petersburg’s reputation as an art city. The Mahaffey Theatre, Palladium, American Stage, FreeFall Theatre, Florida Orchestra, St Pete Opera, Jannus Live and many more organizations offer an outstanding array of performing arts. Additionally, the city boasts a plethora of art galleries, over 100 murals, and a variety of history museums. If you are a lover of the arts, this is a must-see city!
